History of cadet colleges in Pakistan
Cadet College Hasan Abdal, in Attock District, Punjab, is regarded as the country’s first cadet college. It was set up as a feeder institution for the services academies and opened in 1954, after military wings began at Sahiwal and Peshawar in 1952. Cadet College Petaro (Sindh, 1957) and Razmak (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1961) followed, and the model later spread to every province, with public, army-run and private institutions.
